Just a quick story about how I got started. I have been doing crafts all my life from the first pair of shoes I made on a toy sewing machine for my Pebbles doll (yes, Pebbles Flintstone had to have shoes). I was 10 and on my way to a fashion career. My mother taught me to knit, crochet and sew but I liked to be challenged to learn every craft I could. My degree is in Textiles, Clothing, and Merchandising from the University of Kentucky. However, my career lead me down a different path working in the administrative and human resources field while I raised a family. During this time, my ventures into crafts and sewing was used to design costumes for Halloween and school plays for my 3 boys. My love for fashion and costuming and my ability to make what I envision has been ignited again with my retirement. Rory, my middle son, has a flair for Steampunk and was the first to show me this world of alternative history. We collaborate on design ideas and critique each other on our items. This has been a truly family oriented endeavor. Wow, what a way to have fun and use all the things I've learned along the way.
